It’s been pretty sad to see Amy Winehouse throughout the last few years as she descended into a spiral of drug addiction and alcohol abuse, which led to some pretty nasty pictures involving crack pipes and drunken brawls. Now, it seems that Amy has made the decision to clean up her act after meeting her new love Reg Traviss. So did she clean up for Reg and for good?
Whatever her reasons were for the clean-up don’t really matter at this point. Amy has made a decision to transform her life and kick the habit, which, any way you look at it, is positive. Amy always had a relationship with alcohol since her teens but it was her ex, Blake Fielder-Civil, who claims to have introduced her to crack cocaine and heroin (very much a Whitney Houston scenario). That was a beginning of a disastrous relationship.
The buzz is that she quit for her new love interest Reg and has since said goodbye to drugs, drinking and even smoking.
According to her friend Sam Shaker: "She is totally transformed. I am so proud of her. She has stopped smoking completely. Reg has sorted her out. She drank Virgin Mary cocktails all night, not a single alcoholic drink."
Traviss is a film director popular for a few British productions, including the more recognized Joy Division. He comes across as a clean-cut “Dapper Dan” kind of guy, which apparently is having a good influence on Amy. Let’s just hope that she stays that way.
