Charlie Sheen has been hospitalized after being drunk

Sheen has been in New York with the ex he once despised – Denise Richards – and two daughters Sam and Lola. Richards was in the city to promote her series "Blue Mountain State" and thankfully, she and the girls were staying in a room separate to Sheen's. And all seemed to be going well for the reunited family. The now amicable ex-couple had even taken their two daughters to see a performance of Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

"It was just the four of them," a source told E! News. "Charlie and Denise were really friendly together, and their girls were having a wonderful time."

As pretty much everyone on the planet already knows, this isn't the first time Sheen has engaged in dubious slash violent behavior. Sheen was arrested in Colorado last Christmas when his now ex-wife Brooke Mueller claimed Sheen had flown into a rage and had tried to kill her. Mueller signed an affidavit where she claimed that Sheen became enraged, grabbed her by the upper part of her throat while straddling her on the bed, pulled out a knife and held it to her throat, saying, “You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I’ll kill you.”

With his spokesperson claiming he had an "adverse allergic reaction to some medication," it doesn't look like Sheen is accepting responsibility for what happened and now, the highest paid actor on television, who is already back in L.A. so that he can resume making $1.8 million an episode on Two and a Half Men, is reportedly not going to face any legal repercussions either.

Denise Richards, Sheen's ex wife, who was staying across the hall with their two young daughters, actually met Sheen's prostitute at a dinner hours before his (alleged) drunken rampage. Sheen, three other men and five women (including Richards and the prostitute) had the dinner together, but Richards bailed once things started getting crazy.

Later, Richards apparently helped Sheen to the hospital when she got wind of the scuffle in the room and was up bright and early the next morning to appear on Howard Stern's show.

"Good morning!! Getting ready .. Heading to do Howard Stern this am!! Hmm what could he possibly ask this time?!?!" Richards tweeted Tuesday morning.

Richards didn't talk to Stern about the incident other than mentioning that, "It's been a very eventful trip."

Richards went on Joy Behar's show and opened up a little more, saying, "I'd rather leave that for Charlie to discuss, if that's something he wants to do, because that's something very personal and private. The thing is that my daughters are 5 and 6, and they're at an age where they can start to understand. They have no idea what went on, and our stuff happened when they were much younger, which I'm so grateful for."

Meanwhile, Brook Mueller, Sheen's current estranged wife, was caught by cameramen and asked to comment on the scandal. Mueller, mother to Sheen's 19-month old twin boys said, "I hope so" before later telling them, "I'm sorry, I can't comment."
