Does anyone know or are you actually able yourself to live from your winnings from gambling? I see there are professional gamblers world wide but often wonder if it is realistic to think you could live comfortably on modest wins?

The only people who earn enough money from gambling are the people who organise it. No one else does - at some point you are the loser, and sooner rather than later you realise that ou are evens!!

I just wondered as I have watched TV programmes receentl which seem to show that if you have experience then making money is easy. Not huge sums but enough to live a decent standard of life.
Look on most sites and you will also see people saying they have won major amounts!

If gambling did pay then surely the business would be bankrupted! You will always get those who have a great deal of luck over the years and claim to be able to beat the system but try finding them after say 10 years and see how they are living. Best thing to do is treat it as a form of entertainment where you might have the occassional small hit but you will never hit the big time.

Totally agree with you Manne. To be honest I always feel I have more of a chance with sport betting, perhaps I am a little cynical of casino games but looking back I have always been pretty much equal with my winnings vs losses in sport betting.

Very good point!
Yes with sports betting you are more in control, but on the other hand why do people play slots?, people knows it's a game of chance. Still it's fun and thrilling either way. Blackjack and craps I suppose are easier to win at, the more experience you got.

There is only really one winner - big business!

However, if you are sensible and only use money you can afford to lose, it is harmless. When it gets out of control, that is the time to stop!

The other thing that must affect whether you can make some kind of living from gambling is how much practice and experience you put yourself through. If you have other responsibilities such as kids to look after then I don't think you could achieve very much due to looking after their needs.
