U.S. singer and composer Isaac Hayes, who died on Sunday aged 65, started his career in the 1960s at Stax Records. In 1971, he wrote the theme song for the film Shaft - (He won an Oscar for Shaft).

He won popularity with a new generation when he became the voice of Chef in the cartoon series South Park.
