Did the Congress just legalize online gambling?! That's what columnist for the Kansas City Star Gaming Blog believes. πŸ˜„

if Congress couldn't define what *illegal online gambling* is, the banks won't be able to either. :thumbsup

Anyway - more good news for online gamblers is .....online gambling ban don't become effective for another year (December 2009) which allows plenty of time for a repeal from the new (Obama) Congress and The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, which is now challenging the UIGEA policy enforcement in the US courts.

UPDATE: A spokesman for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative panned the rules and called on Obama and Congress to *relieve this burden on the financial service sector and regulate the industry.* While Obama has been silent on the issue, Vice President-elect Biden has an indirect connection to the industry. Until recently - his son Hunter was a lobbyist who worked with a law firm that represents Russ DeLeon, the billionaire founder of PartyGaming.com, a popular online gambling destination.

I'll be curious now to see if some of the poker sites start doing business with American customers again. Sites like Party Poker or Pacific Poker.
