For the last 6-10 months the online gambling industry has been rocked by scandal, arrests and Neteller owing thousands of United States customers millions of dollars. It all started with the arrests of David Carruthers and BetonSports shutting down while not repaying one read cent to thousands of customers. Peter Dicks of SportingBet was arrested shortly after.
Pinnacle Sports announced they were leaving the US market.
Neteller announced the monies were seized by the US government.
Over the last few weeks we have noticed a slight change in the online gambling industry outlook. The federal government is feeling pressure for their prosecutors and the FBI who have used the Patriot Act and the fear of terrorism towards their agenda of eliminating Internet Gambling.
Senator Barney Frank has announced he will fight against the UIGEA. Former Senator Alfonse D'Amato has joined forces with the Party Poker Alliance who is leading the fight to legalize poker. Two more Senators from Las Vegas are working on a new bill that could also open the doors to an investigation and study on Internet gambling.
Late last night Sportingbet announced that Louisiana had dropped all charges and the case is now closed while Neteller announced they have worked out a deal with the US State Attorney to make a plan for monies returned to all United States customers within 75 days.
I say we soon have won the fight
