I may be moving to England for a job within the near future and was wondering how betting and tax works there. From what I have seen there's no tax being paid for betting with british bookmakers, but what about other EU (esp Malta) and non EU bookmakers? Obviously I'm using online wallets anyway, but still want to know from someone who knows what the actual rules are there.

Hello adebade, I used to travel UK a lot and in their shops, you needed to pay 10% tax on every bet, you could choose between paying the tax on your payment amount (for instance if I was placing a bet on 10 GBP I needed to pay the tax of 1 GBP) or on winnings (if the winnings would be 100 GBP you would pay the tax of 10 GBP). But that is what it was like some years ago, dont know about current situation.

I think the one who pay the tax is not you but the bookmakers. That caused those Asian bookmakers like SBOBET, 12BET, etc withdrawn from Europe market especially UK.

Marathonbet and Ladbrokes are worthless, Marathonbet will limit you to 1 EUR after 2-3 bets. Tipico and 5Dimes are OK to try, liquidity at 5Dimes on football is not great but at least they won't limit you. No idea about Unibet, I've used them for quite a while.

Thanks for your answer, I think will try Tipico, it looks good for me.

Hi guess, I think if you want to win big you must to play with High stakes, in this case you have the chance to win as well as to lose at the same time.

Hi fox, there may be a chance for you to be invited by a player from different country and then register an account. I don't say it is going to work, but I have heard that someone from U.S did it that way and it worked. You should look into it.

Hello guys I'm choosing new bookmaker from Come On or 5Dimes

Can you tell me your experiences with these two bookies? I mean:

- limiting account (for winning 100e,500e,1000e...)
- troubles through withdrawing (Im not bonus hunter)
- any other unreliable practice - voiding bets for any reasons, closing account but not sending the rest of the money back etc.
- better odds? I heard gossips that 5dimes shows at betexplorer or oddsportal better odds than they really have... is that true?
- last question - does 5dimes open markets for football leagues like romania, bulgaria, macedonia or indonesia, singapur etc.? (like ComeOn has)

thx for your opinions and experiences with these two bookmakers

Good day popleli, I do bet with 5Dimes..Never had any problems with them, although I haven't tried withdrawing money yet.I use oddsportal for comparing odds, and the odds listed there are normally available.Of course, there is a small delay on the odds feed to oddsportal,so if you login to 5Dimes because they were offering the best odds, sometimes somebody else will have taken the odds before you and the odds will have shortened.
5Dimes limits are fairly generous, although sometimes not as large as Pinnacle or SBObet. While I was winning with 5Dimes,I never noticed that the limits were falling.
I haven't tried betting with ComeOn yet.

Both are reliable and won't rip you off with money.
ComeOn are probable to limit you after some time. 5Dimes don't do that but their default limits on most leagues are not so high and they offer fewer markets than ComeOn although quite a lot for a US sportsbook but you won't find Macedonia, Indonesia and others of the kind.
