Been in card games where folks are playing slowly and others are playing very aggresive. When should you be aggressive?

I think it all depends on what style your comfortable with. I try going against the grain of the style at play. So if people are tight i try to play more aggressive to steal more pots. If people are aggresive i tend to play tighter and wait for that hand that will take down someone trying to buy the pot. Its just important to no when to put on the breaks of a certain style.

ALWAYS 😡

The Price to the Better not the caller most times in poker.

But if it isn't your style then it isn't your style.

Ok I'm just kidding about the Always thing.

Uaually i prefer tight play as its more rewarding, but sometimes mostly with tight passive players, aggresiveness might be a good option...

When and when not to be aggressive will always be determined more by your opponents than anything else...the key is to really make mental notes, or even written ones if it helps you, of hand types they're playing and how they're playing them. If you can pick up whether someone limps in with a-9 off or bets big on just about anything you can pick up enough info to adjust your play accordingly. After all, sometimes you've got to bet that flush draw when it comes down with 3 spades on the flop just to figure out if anyone else has it, even if you're only holding red 7-2's...with practice you'll wind up finding the right mix for your true style of play

Gotta mix it up to keep your opponents guessing.

You may want to get more agressive in position, when the blinds seem to be playing reasonably tight.

Also don't try to be to agressive if you are up against the chip leader or a large stack they might call you just because they can. And remember Any two cards can win. Freerollbird

I find that they call alot in lower buy in games. This can be used against them. You can usually get a "feel" for how aggressive you can be on a table after a few blind rounds. loose tables you need to tighten up on.
