Manne wrote: As we compiled yesterday’s casino winners it was Michael G. of MO who walked away with the top spot after winning $48,205 playing Mister Money online slot machine.
As Michael was enjoying his winners high, we also had Sue K. of FL make her way to the top with a $38,231 win playing a Bodog Casino favorite, Mermaid Queen online slot machine.

Other big Bodog Casino winners from yesterday included:
David D. of OK worked his magic on the Blackjack tables and won a total of $7,112.
Jennifer Y. of CA took a trip down under and won $5,592 playing Red Sands slots.
Congratulations to all of our casino players for today who used their finely tuned gaming skills at Bodog Casino to their advantage to walk away with a big win!
With only a couple more days left until Thanksgiving, make sure to line up your favorite Bodog Casino games for those upcoming holiday lulls when listening to cousin Peter talk about his countless blind dates seems to lose its entertainment value.
Great work. Congrats to the winner.

Poker players in Iowa celebrated too early this week when the Senate approved File 2257 to legalize online poker in the state. Despite the 29-20 approval for the bill, it was soon clear that this was the end of the road when the Iowa House informed gambling proponents that it didn’t plan to take up the bill as there as a “general lack of interest” among Senate members.

According the House Speaker, Kraig Paulsen, none of the 60 members have met to discuss Senate File 2257 which would allow state licensed casinos to operate online poker sites, under regulations dictated by the Racing and Gaming Commission.

Bodog Poker has embarked on a new style of playing poker online. The new style has been named ‘the recreational poker model’. It is a self explanatory definition of what some online poker marketers are calling very innovative and interesting. The process of implementing the system has taken a few years now and each new phase of the concept makes the model more and more suitable in today’s competitive world of online poker.

Tapie and the owners of Full Tilt agreed to extend their deadline for completion until this Friday (March 16th) to allow for further due diligence and sources on both sides are confident that the deadline will be met.”

Internet gambling mogul Calvin Ayre, who taunted U.S. federal authorities from his luxury penthouse in Yaletown, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Maryland for allegedly running an illegal sports gambling enterprise and conspiring to launder money.

Also indicted were three of Ayre’s associates who, until last year, operated out of a Bodog-related office at 333 Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver.

They are Vancouver chartered accountant James Philip (also a director of NovaGold Resources Inc.); former controller and head of e-commerce David Ferguson, who commuted to Vancouver from his home in Kelowna but is now believed to be living in London, UK; and media buyer Derrick Maloney.

Reports that Canadian poker pro Daniel Negreanu has become one of the most visible and vocal advocates for poker in the world. Negreanu’s candid discussions of events surrounding Black Friday, namely his willingness to share very frank opinions about Full Tilt Poker, set him apart from more politically correct poker pros. But this PokerStars-sponsored player does more than publicly criticize Full Tilt Poker; Negreanu has the unique capacity to stand up for online poker, not just as a player who feels strongly about the reputation and future of the game, but also as one of the most consistently successful players in history.

Although legislation to license and regulate Internet gambling did not pass through the state legislature Thursday as he had projected, New Jersey State Sen. Raymond Lesniak said that he still expects Internet poker to be up and running in the Garden State by September.

Lesniak said the reason for the delay was that technical amendments from Gov. Chris Christie's office on issues such as licensing procedure weren't finished until Wednesday. He said that would have been enough time for him to push the bill through in the state senate Thursday but was not enough time to get it through the state assembly.

"We're going to have to work harder and faster to get the regulations and licenses issued, that's all," Lesniak said Thursday in a phone interview. "We'll still have it done by September. That can still be reached for sure. I was being conservative in saying it would be done by September."

The name Chris "Moorman1" Moorman is synonymous with tournament poker, particularly in the online poker world, and rightly so because he is the winningest player in the entire world. In his online tournament career Moorman has won just shy of $7,800,000 including 11-Triple Crowns (three tournament wins on three different sites within a week) but if you check the Brighton lad's Hendon Mob database there are no first places listed; but check in a couple of days time and there will be because Moorman has finally won his first live tournament after six years on the circuit!

Moorman proudly announced on his Facebok profile "Finally won a live tourney it only took 6 years😡! 1k turbo with bounties for 21k + 14k in bounties. Epic hu battle which lasted over an hour. Now gonna go celebrate without any alcohol! — with Jason Koon." and has so far seen over 120 likes and more than 40 comments, such is Moorman's poker celebrity status!

The $25,000 guaranteed Contender Series Main Event in the Black Diamond Poker Open may take place this Sunday, but there's still plenty of playing to do! There are two more Contender Series tournaments on the schedule — a $1,500 guaranteed fixed-limit tournament tonight at 8pm ET and a $4,000 guaranteed knock-out turbo event at 10pm ET — along with Super Saturday Satellite Day leading up to the $25,000 guaranteed Main Event and the $10,000 guaranteed Second Chance tournament on Sunday!

In the meantime, though, it's time to list the winners of the last couple of days. Stefan B won $1,021.81 for their first-place finish in Contender Event #19, the $3,000 guaranteed rebuy tournament that featured a mere $5 buy-in. He was soon joined by the winner of Contender Event #19, Jeffrey C, who won $400.20 for taking the top spot in the $1,000 guaranteed 6-Max Turbo Pot Limit Omaha tournament.

Contender Event #21, the $2,000 guaranteed fixed limit Omaha Hi/L tournament featured some fierce competition but Kyle O won, adding $667 to his bankroll. Finally, Contender Event #22 was the $2,000 guaranteed six-max turbo no limit hold 'em event and Adam L won it, earning $560.79

Years ago, I wrote that in the future, the majority of successful poker players would be young, online-educated players who had accumulated significantly more hand experience than players from previous generations, who had spent their days at the slow-moving live tables.

For a while, established professionals scoffed at those who predicted a transition, and derided the online generation as impatient and unacquainted with the realities of major live tournaments. Now, few in the high-stakes culture would question that the online generation has taken the helm in the poker world, and even older players who have been profitable for years scramble to adjust to the new form of ultra-aggressive poker that the kids have brought to the live arena.

In a recent news report from G-poker, the site claimed that poker leaders who hailed from Canada were the most important in the industry. And as surprising as this statement may be and all the conclusions and opinions that one could possibly draw from it, there seems to be some truth in it.

Bally’s Interactive, has been busy lately in it’s preparation of the availability of legal online poker in the state of Nevada. However, doubts as to when this will actually happen have been overshadowing such events as Bally Interactive Vice President of Business Development John Connelly said he didn’t expect federal legalization of online poker anytime this year, despite assurances by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that he’ll try to get it through.

“An election year makes things a little more complicated,” Connelly said, and Reid’s efforts haven’t produced any publicly circulated drafts of a bill or any proposals since late 2010. Caesars Entertainment Corp. and other casino companies have lobbied for federal legislation to regulate online poker and to allow states to opt out if they choose.

Christie has taken a nuanced position on Internet gaming, where online poker is by far the most popular offering. Christie vetoed a bill last March to allow such betting, questioning what he called the "legal fiction" of stating that Atlantic City's monopoly on gaming was not compromised by allowing residents statewide to play online poker. Lesniak and other supporters say that the servers that handle the action still would be based in Atlantic City.

The state Attorney General's Office is still reviewing whether a statewide referendum in November would be needed to permit online poker, Christie said this month. Lesniak said that the state already is in a race against other states to be the "first to market," or no worse than second, and thus cannot afford to wait. Nevada has passed an Internet gaming law, and may soon be ready to take such bets.
