Some of the best deals that I have found are on the travel sities like travelocity and yahoo travel. The most important is the time that you want to go.

Twenty-four hours after it was revealed that mandatory financial services industry compliance with the regulations of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) would be delayed by six months, the poker industry has had a chance to react. The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) was one of several organizations that successfully petitioned U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to push back conformity with UIGEA rules until June 1st, 2010.

The entire industry seems likely to be legalized and regulated in the United States. 😁

It is an established fact that Internet poker has become one of the most popular forms of gambling for the Americans, with millions of online card players in the US. At the moment there are not enough standing regulations to protect the customers’ ends when they gamble at the many existing unregulated online casinos so they eagerly look forward to the US updating their online gambling laws. Everyone is awaiting a new ruling with poker becoming the first game to be regulated.

While irony ruled the night on the Amazing Race season finale with the final roadblock coming down to counting poker chips (poker hotties Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho would obviously have killed it at that instead of windy golf and carnival strength games), 472 online poker players turned out for Bodog Poker's Sunday $100k Guaranteed online poker tournament to try to amass their own stack of virtual poker chips. By the end of the night, the biggest stack belonged to "Bobbyc8," who went home with the $25,000 first-place prize.

As a relative newcomer to the Bodog Poker room, "Bobbyc8β€³ has cashed in several smaller buy-in tournaments but this is by far his biggest win to date. With this infusion into his Bodog bankroll, we expect we'll see much more of him and his winning ways on the virtual online poker tables. Making this win even more valuable for "Bobbyc8β€³ was the generous $29,200 overlay that Bodog added to the prizepool, guaranteeing him a huge payout even with fewer opponents to battle through.

Here are the full final table results and payouts from last night's event:

1. Bobbyc8 – $25,000
2. jpa10 – $15,000
3. Shawry5 – $9,500
4. IjewedU – $7,000
5. griznasty – $5,500
6. czarcaesarxx – $4,500
7. golferboy19 – $3,500
8. BaxterBlue – $2,200
9. danohasnuts73 – $1,700

We all know that this is the time of year that Santa makes his list and checks it twice, and you have to assume, for poker players, part of him finding out who's been naughty or nice is how you act at the table. Believe the quote goes something like, "the measure of a man is how he treats is enemies." Or something like that.

Playing Omaha

Omaha Hi Lo

Omaha is a variation of Hold'em poker games. It was first brought to the Las Vegas Golden Nugget Casino by professional poker player, Bill Boyd. He learned about the game from casino executive Robert Turner. Omaha has several similarities and differences from Texas Hold'em. Like in other card games, the overall goal in Omaha is to win the pot or collected prize money.

Similarities and differences between Omaha and Texas Hold'em

Both Omaha and Texas Hold'em, players make bets to win a pot. Bets are made depending on the hands players have. In addition, players of Omaha and Texas Hold'em try to make the best five-card hand by combining hole cards and community or table cards. Finally, the player who makes the best five-card hand at the end of each round wins the pot.

But unlike with Texas Hold'em wherein players are dealt two hole cards, Omaha players receive four from the dealer. They also try to make several five-card hand combinations using the four cards and community cards. In addition, Omaha players must use no less than two hand cards, unlike in Texas Hold'em, wherein players can use just one hand card to combine with the community cards.

To learn to play Omaha, read poker strategy articles. They are available in beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels in online poker schools. To practice and gain more experience in playing Omaha, join play money tables in online poker rooms.

Now that Christmas is in the bag you can look forward to having a few days off to relax and unwind. The gifts were fun and the food was awesome, but the endless parade of relatives can be a bit much. With the "family" part of the holidays out of the way, you can now focus on YOU and all the things you want to do during your days off. Online poker, anyone?

Make the best of what's left of your holidays. After all, you've done your part in making Christmas a success; it's time to work on making the New Year your best year ever at the poker tables. And it all starts with making time to play online poker.
