Don't ever slow play your Kings...

Yes I know, but for some reason wanted to trap a few peeps. This was also during Poker Stars PSO League play today (was 9th), so I told myself not to over commit (stupid) and a lot of crazy maniacs out there during the first couple of levels, besides suck outs...

So I just call (15/30 - 2nd level) and have like 4 other callers (flop - small rainbow like 4,8,7 not sure) I then x3 BB and 2 callers (not sure what turn is, but didn't matter) I then x6 BB and 1 caller who shoves all in. This should have been the hint, but no I'm freaking stupid. He had the straight on the flop and didn't even see it coming. Used almost all my time bank, but called because a voice told me his bluffing.

I totally set myself up for that, because of my yes stupid play. Live and learn and needed some venting; made some point up in 2nd tourney, going to 3rd now...

Trap, only when you have the made hand and can't lose!:thumbsup

Same with AA really, you want small card, specially small pocket pairs to fold.Raise enough to get small hands out.Realistically, you really only want one caller,if more than one calls you, your chances of winning goes down.

It seems alot of people especially online are getting addicted to slow play .not sure why but i can see its advantages at times but it doesnt work well for me or pretty obvious im not doing it right.personally i try to play my cards or the player trying to see less cards and calling players as possible.remember what works for me may not work for you.lol

Not only on online play people are playing slow but this you can see on live events more often.
I don't like to play slow pocket King's because if a donk hits pocket Ace's with a small kicker you lose that pot.So don't play slow pocket King's. 😄

Some points to remember when you have KING/KING:

The more people you invite into the hand by slow playing preflop, the greater the chances you are going to lose. Why invite disaster?

The odds are almost 50% that someone else has a pocket pair as well. Why let him see a cheap flop with his 3's or 5's. He will clobber you with a set if it hits because you are going to overbet your K/K everytime.

K/K loses to any A/ rag hand if the ace shows up. Why would you let A/4 0r A/6 get a cheap look at the flop?

The odds are almost 50% you are going to get a suited flop if more than one person has suited starters. These guys love to limp in so why let them? You will need the 1/100 4 suited community cards to have a chance at beating them. And that isn't even a sure thing.

And lets not forget the all important blind hands. Two cards they ordinarily would fold get to see the flop and WHAM it flops 9-4-2! You shove those kings and he flips over 9/2 and laughs as the pot slides his way.

Personnaly I'd rather collect the blinds and continue playing than cuss out the donk that beat me with his weak hand. OH wait, I was the donk! I slowplayed my KK and let him win.

Food for thought. I'm done rambling. If you have K/K, Raise!

Exactly.

:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

If you have KK please please Raise ......
Try not to let in the junk hands and avoid multi callers.

If you choose to trap then prepare to treat your K's as if they were J's and get ready to fold when it feels wrong.

Raise with KK.
