What were you thinking at the point in the main event with 26 players left when you decided to muck your flush at the showdown to a pair of aces. You both check the river, opponent shows A9(no spades) with 4 spades on the table. You have 88 in the pocket with one being a spade. Your opponent shows he paired his A on the river and you hit your flush on the river, but you muck the winning hand. OUCH...you are going to hate seeing that on TV.:confused::confused:

Wasn't that something😡!! I almost died when I saw that. Mind you...even the best of the best make mistakes. But he is lucky that it didn't cost him the tournament. He is at the final table but that play may come back to haunt him.

I couldn't believe it myself, I had to rewind 2 times to make sure what I heard was correct. Ivey looked right over at his oppenants hand and still mucked it. Mistakes like that could bring a mans tournament to an end. He has already seen the mistake on TV, I wonder if it will have an effect on his his mind come november 9th

Must admit though that i have done some stupid things like that myself. Mind you.....not for 2 000 000 chips, but still. You play for so long and your brain tends to take a break from time to time.

Smells like a brain fart to me. . .or a vision problem. :what:

It's one thing looking at cards on a computer screen and a whole different thing looking at them in, probably, less than optimal lighting while trying to shield them from nearby eyes after who know how many hours of play. And given the fairly cursory look he took at the cards does not seem like he realized he had hit the flush and conceded he was beat by a better two pair. . .

And proves a brain fart can happen to anyone.

Consider this also though... if he turns over his cards... as the rules of poker says he should have before other dude even said Aces... he wins the pot... BUT he never, ever sees what the guy had raised him with. I say he's trying to make it seem dumb now (like Ivey cares if anybody thinks he's dumb), but he was really giving up those chips to get that information.

Of course, i say all of this not knowing whether it's true... but something to think about.

This hand was crazy.. If you wanna watch the action, click HERE.

He probably realized his hand after he threw em in.

Ummmm. . .no, can't buy that argument, sorry. . .

And, IIRC, Smith said he had an ace, making a pair w/ the board. Now, if Phil should've shown first -- and that's one of those things I'm glad poker software takes care of -- and the "cards talk" rule is in effect, then Phil gets the pot, no contest.

I believe more and more that PI just didn't see, or maybe remember, his hole cards correctly. At that point in the tournament are you really going to pay for information? Maybe PI just mucked it so as to not give off any information of his own -- assuming he didn't realize hitting the flush. Possible, eh?
