PokerStars Weekly Round 2 Qualifiers

Just noticed today that PokerStars has fired back at FullTiltPoker and their new Round 1 Freerolls by reducing the maximum field sizes in their own Weekly Round 2 Qualifiers to 5,000 from previous caps of 8,000 or 9,000. [For some reason, the Cassini Stud Freeroll I looked at still seemed to have a cap of 8K -- maybe an oversight.] The number of tickets awarded in each freeroll remains the same as under the higher field caps. . .

This effectively improves your odds of being able to grab a ticket for the Weekly Round 2 Freeroll. The Weekly Round 2 Freerolls retains its prize pools of $2,000. Let's see how FTP responds to this volley by PS. . .

Sounds good to me

i have too say the 10k rnd 1 and up to 20k rd is just not worth the trouble on FT

might have a look at stars - definetely sounds like better odds

thx for the heads up on this

haven't played on stars for a while

It is somewhat tougher to get the ticket to Round 2 on PokerStars -- 48, 64 or 72 [depending on the game] out of 5K vs. 250 out of 10K -- but odds to get some cash are much better when you do as the PS prize pool is larger and they basically pay out to tune of 1-out-of-8 as opposed to a flat 90 players. . .

I like the smaller fields, but you need to sign up for the NL fast.

Yes, the NL event is the best for time as in about 3 hours or so you'll know if you got your ticket.

The other events take longer and don't have many as places paid (tickets).

Looks like PokerStars has gone back to their old fields sizes -- maximum of 1000 tables per freeroll. Oh well, it was an advantage while it lasted. . . :crying
