Sit N Go vs Tournaments

I have played in many sit in go's and have done well. I have played in tournaments and have done okay. It appears to me that you can probably make the same amount of winnings in a sit n go as you can in a low end tournament.
What do you think?

I prefer SNGs. I can usually place in as SNG, place a lot less often in MTT. And the clincher is that you spend way more hours in
A MTT before u know you are out. So time vs return, SNG hands down.

If you play well enough to win the S-N-G's, then you play well enough to WIN the large MTT's. The only investment being time. Winning hundreds of times your initial investment is well worth it if you have the time to play them, if your tired or restricted on the amount of time you can didcate, then S-N-G's are your best bet.

Do you win poker points in sng? I've never noticed any being credited to my account?

most points are awarded for the entry fee, not the buy-in, so if you're in lower buy-in games with tiny entry fees then you're probably just not noticing them since they're fractions of a point.

As far as type of tourney, I usually prefer survivor, shoot-out, or bounty tourneys...doubling up quick in survivor could be all you need to stick it out to the money in many cases, bounty is also a favorite since even if I do lose after several hours of play, as long as I take a few people with me I can at least get my buy-in back, if not profit outright.

I like the SNG's more than the MTT's. You start play against 10 opp's and it drops from there. The normal SNG's pay the top three (3/10), this is better than most tournaments and some SNG's (Stars & Bodog..etc) payout the top four or five.

I agree with the payout argument. Most SitnGos last 1hr to 2 hours and you have a decent chance at least at making the money.

I'm not aware of any freeroll, even private ones, approaching that payout percent.

I have not seen any freeroll sngs. I play mostly mtt. And have made it itm several times. It's a good feeling to look back in the lobby to see how many players behind you. I lke the .10 cent rebuy at ft I only buy in without any rebuys to see how far I can last. Freerollbird
