US Poker Tax Bill Introduced

Rep. Jim McDermott told Washington publication, The Hill about the latest version of his poker tax bill. The updated version of the bill was introduced last week in bid to bring the issue of online poker and gambling onto the radar, allowing state governments to benefit from income generated from these industries.

McDermott (D-WA) said that the bill was intended to act as a companion bill to Barney Frank’s much awaited legislation that should regulated and legalize online poker and gambling. McDermott is especially out to help foster children whom he believes have received “the short end of the stick”. The bill will have a 6% tax imposed on poker deposits that will benefit state and tribal governments directly.

Sounds like where this is all going eventually. 6%? How bout 1 or 2% LOL.

Does it matter where the poker site is hosted from? For example if there is a poker site in Europe, I don't see how they can get it all. Then again, we will have to wait and see.

6% tax on "poker deposits"

I told everyone to be careful what they wish for.
You let the US government regulate online poker and we get what we get.
I think the good will out way the bad that's for sure.

Looking at it in a positive light:

This is another incentive to become a winning player and avoid the 6% Deposit Tax.
