As of 5pm ET on Friday, the jackpot of the popular Texas Hold'em game had reached over $490,000. With $0.50 collected from each qualifying hand at designated Bad Beat Jackpot tables, that number is expected to surpass the half-million mark by late Friday. At 5:43 a.m. PT, KADI hit the Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpot when her 10-high straight-flush lost to a king-high straight-flush. Her share of the record-high $821,670.69 jackpot was $267,042.97.

It has never been so lucrative to be sitting at a bad beat jackpot table since the record before this jackpot was nearly half as small at $464,652.03. The player with the king-high straight-flush took down the pot as well as an extra $133,521.48. In addition, the participants in the hand each received $33,380.37.

Yeah I was wondering do you have to be at special tables or a certain limit? Because I imagine if you are on a micro table you just get a percentage of it right?

Because I imagine if you are on a micro table you just get a percentage of it right? You have to be at a table where the blinds are at least .25/.50. There are special tables you have to play at in order for the bad beat to count. Only on NLHE
