I posted this in another thread as well, but wanted to share. I was ITM in 3 tourneys at the time of the crash. For one of them (not ours), I received this email from FTP. What's odd is that I received this email like 5 minutes after they came back online, but 2 days later I still haven't heard anything about the other two. I sent FTP an email yesterday, and got a reply back saying that someone will be getting back to me. I'm hoping they just need some time to catch up, but am getting concerned since they haven't even acknowledged it yet. Also I noticed today that our voided tournament is no longer out there in the listings, so you can't even go back and look at the details anymore. Anyway, here's the email I got from FTP for another tourney, which I believe indicates we shouls receive payouts:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When a tournament is cancelled after it reaches the money, according to tournament rule 31.3 (www-fulltiltpoker-com/tourRules-php):
* All remaining players will have their tournament fee refunded and be
awarded with the next guaranteed payout of the tournament.
* The remaining prize pool will be divided and distributed according to chip
count - (Remaining Prize Pool)*(Your Chip Count)/(Total Chips in Play) = Your Share of Remaining Prize Pool.

31.3. If the tournament had reached the money - All players still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will have their tournament fee refunded and be awarded with the next guaranteed payout. In addition, the remaining prize pool (and Cashout pool where applicable) will be distributed amongst the surviving players based on their chip counts.

An email is sent to the administrator 'bredstik'. Admin will check that issue. 😁

I know you're just joshin', Josh, but if what Bredstik got from FTP is what they do with the voided tournament then basically a final table deal was made on the players behalf using the chip count option. . .

I got the word that the tournament got cancelled and the prizepool will not be paid out to any player. This would also mean that other tournaments that you played in got void as well. Bad news for players yes, but these things doesnt happen too often.

We will be running a regular on full tilt sunday 3rd jan 2010 but we are planning on having something special that weekend on top of the $50 freeroll.

I was in a $100 Razz freeroll on Tilt when it crashed. I was 5th in chips, exactly 50 people left, and 27 getting paid.

It's really frustrating when that happens. It's hard to make it into the money-you don't expect it to be taken away from you suddenly by no fault of your own. The site should pay out according to how players stand in the tourney at the time of the crash.

But, nobody is guaranteed to be in the money until the money bubble has been popped. So if there are more players still live than there are paid places at the time of the server crash the tournament gets voided instead of the prize pool pro-rated among the surviving players inside the bubble. . .

Shouldnt payout unless everyone left is in the money. If more players are left than places paid, it shold be voided. Paying out according to place when it happened is just not fair, we all know the saying, "a chip and a chair".

Anyone know what happened to the people who cashed prior to tourney being completed? ex pays 18 places, 9 left, the 9 out got paid already correct? Do they forfit theyre winnings?

The room doesn't pay out when the tournament is voided with more players still alive than places to be paid. . .

Bredstik's post earlier in this thread has the procedure that is followed when a tournament gets voided after the money bubble has been popped. . .

Although it doesn't say it in the excerpt posted by Bredstik, my interpretation is that players already paid when they busted keep that money. . .

Everyone else still at the tables would receive the amount currently representing the "bottom money" at the time the crash occurred PLUS a prorated share -- based on chip counts -- of the funds remaining in the prize pool after all still live players receive the next amount that would be paid. In your example, all 9 live players would receive the 9th place money + their pro-rated share of any remaining prize fund monies. . .

I can't wait to hear what IXGames is doing for the 3rd either. Thanks again for the FR games offered! We all understand it isn't your fault about what has happened at FTP. By the way, what did FTP do about the previous week's game that only had 7 people registered for it? Did the admin post about that? Could that also be a part of the game on the 3rd if it was also voided?

It's a shame they've been having trouble, because their sign-up approach is the best (no PW thieves) and the software usually works great. Looking forward to this Sunday.
