Often times playing tourneys you get into a situation where the deck just turns out freaky stuff over and over again. I played a $2.00 rebuy recently, and after some wild flops, and my AA getting busted by a KKK flop I started to take some screen shots of this crazy action.

This type of action contiued all game and required me to adjust my strategy in big hands. It paid off, as I made the money placing 30TH but was it ever a wild ride. This type of action continued all game with monster flops!

The bottom line is, you must remain flexible and adjust your strategy according to the flow of the game, not just the players, in order to be successful.

So very true, This past weekend the deck was pretty darn cold for me and my fault I didnt change with it. I started chasing the wind and busted out of evry game I played. Freerollbird

I believe i understand the thought behind the flow of the game. But, this is where frustration sets in for me. I play tight when not hitting just to get shortstacked and/or crippled/knocked out when that big hand comes along. I am not saying I sit and wait for AA, but if you are hitting nothing, even the best player in the world can't bluff through and win a tourney... can they? Idk.

This happens more often than we realise sometimes.i seem to have the problem nearing the money.i wanna say im card dead but its me lacking the knowledge to adjust soon enough and by the time i see it its too late.grrrrr.

Wow. talk about a cold deck lol. just got knocked out of a tourney. I really don't think I played my best but it didn't help having Ac As on a 4 diamond board. LOL. Big raises pf and I didn't push. Grrrr. Put myself in a bad situation and got bluffed from someone in late position. Left myself short stacked and frustrated. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Some days I wish I never started this game lol. oh well, there is always another game.

A cold deck is a deck that the dealer has intentionally rigged, so that certain players will win and other players will lose. In this type of cheating operation, the dealer will often be a mechanic and there will be one or more agents playing in the game. If the dealer is not skilled enough to fix the deck during the shuffle, a hidden cold deck may be slipped in between hands. Typically, in a cold deck scenario, both the losing and winning players will be dealt very strong hands.
