So, how do you play KO tournies? My biggest cash ever was a KO tourney on Fulltilt. $4,400.00 + $124.00 in KO's. The thing to remember in KO touneys is to FORGET they are KO tourneys. You should play them as if the knockout money wasn't even there. The money is not in the knockouts, its in the prize pool. The object is to cash, like in any other tourney. I won a 90 player SNG KO tourney and only KO'd 2 players. Both on the final table. The mistake I see most often in these tourneys is people way over betting their hand or cold calling just to score the KO. Stick to solid MTT game play and the remeber the KO's are just a bonus.

I agree, you need to play every tourney the same. The only time you need to change up your game is when antes come into play or you are short stacked. Other than that look at it like its the same tourney no matter what the buy-in or prize pool. If you are comfortable with the way you play why feed into the bad players that look to get lucky

Easier said then done for me. I stay away from them because I always get sucked into calling an all in with top pair or 2-pair, only to see my opponent has a set, or something similar to that. You definitely have to play them the same as a reg. tourney, I just haven't been able to do that, so I figure why play them. The KO money gets taken out of the main pot, so I just don't like these tourney's. I guess if you can take advantage of dopes like me, then it's worth it. 😁

I agree with you, don't worry about the "KO" factor, as much as you should worry about the prize pool. I play these tourneys quite often and rarely KO anyone but have been success in making the final tables thru my type of tourney strategy. I stay tight and don't play for big pots unless Im flopping nutz and not subseptable to big draws. I tend to stick to taking little pots here and there along the way until I have assured myself of part of the prize pool.

The biggest problem for me in KO tourneys has been that everyone else plays as if the KOs are the important thing. I find it difficult to isolate a pot to one or two callers. I prefer the non KO tourneys.

My experience has been that people are much looser preflop in rebuys. In the KOs I have played a lot more of the aggression occurs post flop.

So true, but i seem to always get knocked out by people playing rediculous hands al the way to the river.
