For some reason i would much rather play live over at foxwoods ( local casino to me ) than play online, online all you can go by is betting tendencies and percentages wich will only get you so far... there are simply too many donk players online calling pre flop raises with almost any 2, granted the more money your playing for the more structured it will be, but atleast live its nearly always structured...

I enjoy being able to play in my pajamas, so online works for me. If I can play with my friends, then live makes for a good time. :thumbsup

I think online is more difficult, because you're playing at the same table with the big players, you have people you are looking cameras and plus there are many tensions, while online play without pressure, are at home quiet and you can play without any fear against the best, good luck to all and see you at the tables .......:dirol:dirol

Online games and live games both are very different games from strategical point of view..
U just cant play alike in both..
I think is playing online is way tough than playing live...
But playing live is way more fun than live 😑

I don't have a casino in the area so I play online. I tried a "pub/bar" league
but there were too many distractions.

I do like online poker because of the convenience it allows. I can find a game almost anytime, and I especially enjoy the cost to enter a tourney online. You can buyin fairly inexpensive or even use your points to enter a game. At the casino, everything is gonna cost you to enter. Therefore, online is an easy choice for me.

Today we have so much techlogy right at our fingertips that online poker is so damn easy it's hard to resist, but a few of you have said it well so far, it just can't compare with being able to palt your opponents face to face. Poker is a game of tells and you just can't duplicate a live game online. Stats and betting patterns can help you win, but do not give you a true advantage. I am also not sold on the random shuffle programs that online sites currently use. There are only a few computers on the planet that can run a TRUE random number genenration for a 52 card deal, and as far as I know no poker site owns or utelizes one. That being said, I'll be playing online today, lol. No brick and mortar casinos in east Tennessee!!

I'd love to play face to face, but there usually another factor for the masses...a seat at a live poker room will not include the ultra popular micro stakes. People love poker and like to gamble a little...but a live game at a poker room requires a much larger bankroll.

It would probably be too system intensive to run a poker game online along with a 10 way video chat, but I think that's coming soon. There are people who really do want to see you as they play. There may already be some clients that have that capability, but I'd guess it'd cost you.

Personally, I do like some anonymity. There are people like me and others who aren't ultra excited to have their identity known as they play. That's another lure to those who play online. Nobody knows you're doing it.

I would like to get my hands on the cards and look you in the eye from time to time, but it's affordable and easy to just jump on the computer and play a few hands, or even a tournament at any time you want to online. I like it, and so do millions of others around the world. I think we'll see a bunch of improvements in time that will make online poker even more attractive. I'm looking forward to it.

My problem is that I almost haven't time to play online, so if I must move each time I want to play it definitely won't be possible.

The other problem is that I don't think I could really afford live games, so I can say that I will stick on online play πŸ˜„

I actually probably prefer online.. mainly because i've grown so accustomed to it. If one plays a ton of online poker (above micro limits preferably... where yes... some players will limp/call a raise OOP with just about any two) you have a great oppurtunity to develop excellent game theory. Online play has helped out my live game immensely. I also really like the convenience of it.

I feel that online poker is not totaly random and that there is still alot of cheating still going on. I can't tell you how many times that I have gone all in with a great pair and get called by someone with like 2,6 and they hit a straight or a full house on me. Its almost like they know whats going to flop.
