Can you all give me your strategy on hw to play A-RAG... I usually fold them unless I am small/big blnd and there was no raises before me...

I usuallly i dont play them unless iam big or small blind i always fold them or if they are connected then i would play them and i hopfully i hit if not get rid of them

Yep thats a reasonable way to play em. For me Ace-rag is a simple hand when it comes up as far as 'what should i do' goes. Its usually very easy fold or call or raise in the situation when ya get it.

That is generally the way to play them.
However, there are a couple situations that you want to play them , or even raise with them.

1) when a short stack goes all in and they have only 3-4 times the blind and you have at least 15 times the bb.
2) If you are on the button, sb or bb is short stacked, and everyone else has folded to you. You shoulf raise to make the short stack make the decision and most likely take them out.

I usually muck them.....If its bubble time or late in a tourney and people are playing tight I'll open up with a 2.5 raise in mid or late.....Although I personally hate playing them..even if you hit your ace its hard to know where your at in the hand.

suited ace-rag is a good limp in hand
but still depends on what you think, the action behind you may do

ACE-rag, to me is the 6,7,8,or 9
the 2,3,4,5 are possible straights
and would consider extra thoughts

A-rag is dangerous, 'cause NLHE is a game where kickers are very important. The ace is a powerful card though, and in the late position, you can raise with the A-rag, especially siuted. Just beware!

People play them to try and get lucky. Like tonight in my Daily Dollar rebuy. Im sitting with 6800 chips in the cut-off with the blinds at 120/240. Plus one raises to 1450 it folds to me and i move over the top with my J's. He calls and turns over A 4 off-suit and flops his A. Just pathetic how someone could call off over half there stack with that shitty hand. Oh just so you know the rebuys were OVER haha

Trouble is if you do get lucky and hit your ace, it might be bad luck! If you watch Poker After Dark you'll see Dwan play 6,8 in early position, but he'll muck A,6 in early position. Too dangerous the way he bets!

I play Ace rag cautiously, DEPENDING on blinds, stack, position or as a bluff in position or UTG or ALL-in; as you can't wait for the good hands you have to play the one's your dealt.
