Sandbagging AA

Is sandbagging AA a good strategy? I recently played a Tourney and every time someone got AA they sandbagged it and I saw the Win percentage drop to less than 50%😡 So, is it a good strategy?

I will say that if you're gonna slow play with AA don't expect to get a lot of respect for having a big hand when the action starts getting hot and heavy, especially if there are draws on the board. If it works out great for you by the river, great; if not, time to rethink the strategy. . .

Always slow play aces you'll see a better return and if you don't win the hand then no big deal.To many players in these freerolls get AA and go all in and then only get the blinds.What's that about anyway😟

When u limp AA, u chase with lots of opponents.

Your chances to win go really down.

Even aces can lose and often do. I would fold em early in a heated game. Bet em hard to elimnate those might draw or limp and pray to the poker gods.

Late on tournaments, I will never fold.

Early on, I may think.

I wouldn't chase or go all in, but i just try to get out all but one or two players preflop. The more action you see the more danger you are of losing a big pot.

Sandbagging AA from early position and early in a tournament...YES...you also see how many opp's have called the ALL-IN before you have to commit. AA vs 4 or 5 random opps is a 50/50 chance to win BUT against 4 or 5 opps who called the all-in your chances fall even further.

Against 4 o 5 your chances of winning are pretty much slim to none.Just face it if it's late in the hand and your being called all in your beat trust me.

I think you got to play very aggresive this cards, because if you do small raise or you don't make a raise a lot of opponents will play the hand and you`ll have many chances to lose the hand.

Definitely raise pre-flop with AA and definitely not folding unless the situation calls for it. For example, if you're late in the tournament and 3 opponents in front of you push all in and have you covered or would put most of your stack in, then it is probably best to just fold.

The reason is that at least one of your opponents probably has an Ace in their pocket, which means you likely won't be able to improve your hand on the flop, turn, or river.

So easy to lose your whole stack with them if you're not careful. Still, they look soooo nice pre-flop! :dance:

That is one of the best tips posted here. But truth is, unless your on the final table, 99.95 % of us would call the all ins.

I agree with others, it depends on the players, blind structure, position, etc. Lots of people slow play or even limp with aces. I try to play them aggressively to limit the amount of players in the pot. Aces will win you a small pot or lose you a big pot. Over playing the aces is my down fall at times. X

Sandbagging Aces makes "the flop" the decision point in the hand if you don't get the chance to raise and reduce the number of opps. If you go all-in preflop the decision is easier but there are no more choices after that. After the flop all you have is top pair hoping for a set and praying no one else hits the flop hard but you still have options/bet/fold.
