The two made a deal once heads-up play began, setting aside $200,000 from the prize pool and splitting the remainder to assure Schindler at least $992,624 and Merson $948,996 based on their chip counts, leaving the trophy, a swiss watch from Slyde worth $17,500 and the extra money to play for.

On the final four hands of play Merson moved all-in preflop without looking at his cards, and on the final hand Schindler agreed to also shove blind. “That was his idea,” said Schindler after play ended. “At first I was going to wait for a good hand to call with, Q-7 or better, but I didn’t feel like waiting anymore.”

When asked what his thoughts were on his final table competition, Schindler said, " I thought it was going to be pretty tough, which it definitely was. It was really hard to put them on hands and assess their ranges and what not. It was definitely a really tough experience but a really awesome one."

When asked who he had the most trouble against he admitted, “Vanessa. She just doesn’t give up. She’s super resilient. She keeps battling.”

Here is a look at the payouts awarded at this final table:

Rank Player Payout
1 Jake Schindler $1,192,624
2 Greg Merson $948,996
3 Vanessa Selbst $607,580
4 Mustapha Kanit $492,600
5 Robert Mizrachi $389,720
6 Aleksandr Denisov $295,920
7 Ole Schemion $216,040
8 Joao Vieira $157,940

I also heard this news about this and actually got shocked to see the results. The money they won is really gargantuan and it really takes a lot of pressure and skill to win such amount of money. Hats-off to them .

Manne wrote: Officials at the World Series of Poker have announced online options for satelliting into the 2014 WSOP Main Event, including their massive 25 seat guarantee to be held on July 5.

The WSOP-com “25 Seat Main Event Scramble” promises a prize pool no less than $250,000, allowing for players to take their shot at getting into the main for a $215 buy-in.

The event, held right before the start of the Main Event, will “most likely” be the marquee event for online players to find their way into the ESPN-televised tournament, pokerfuse was informed.

According to WSOP-com Head of Online Poker Bill Rini, should the online site get close to that guarantee in satellite qualifiers then they’ll “be looking at upping that guarantee.”

In fact, WSOP-com have started running satellites to the Main Event in both New Jersey and Las Vegas. On Saturdays, at 7pm local time in both states, the online site is running at $215 buy-in event where at least one seat is guaranteed. Daily qualifiers and single table satellites are available to help players step into this event due to its higher buy-in.

Additionally, on Wednesdays, only in New Jersey, they are offering one 10k seat guarantee tournament, at 7pm EST, for $27.50 (with rebuys and add-ons).

The Main Event isn’t the only WSOP experience you can satellite into though.

“We’re running satellites into $1500 and $10K events. Unless specifically stated, $10K seats can be used in any of the $10K events. All $1500 seats, unless otherwise stated, can also be used for any $1500 event,” Rini told pokerfuse.

Wednesdays at 9pm local time in both NJ and NV players can take their shot at getting a ticket to a $1500 bracelet events for as low as $11.

Players are reminded that all seats won must be played, are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash; players are encouraged to clear their schedule to make sure they can make it out to the Rio this summer. While there’s no estimate of exactly how many players will find their way into the series through satellites, OnlinePokerReport reports that there’s a minimum of 93 seats”:2014 Online Satellites to World Series of Poker Now Live on WSOP-com up for grabs and Rini expect that the number could go up from there.

“We’ll be adding all kinds of satellites as people get in town and we have the liquidity available. We expect SNG satellite action to pick up as more people hit Las Vegas in the summer so it makes a prediction on total number of seats difficult.”

While others may offer packages to the summer series, WSOP-com is the only online poker site offering official seats to the 2014 World Series of Poker.

Unlike Haxton, Negreanu cashed in that event, recouping his losses and this score can be enjoyed as a top 3 career cash for the veteran. Right behind Negreanu was Quoss ($800,000 AUD) and Dwan ($500,000 AUD).😟

When the final table of Event #25: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed at the 2015 World Series of Poker goes down Saturday, at least one player will be looking to get a rather large monkey off his back.

Dan O'Brien, who gave up a career on Wall Street to pursue poker, has been at the precipice of glory in major tournaments more times than most, but has yet to win the big one. He has finished runner-up in two WSOP Europe events, made two other WSOP final tables booking a third and fourth-place finish, and bubbled another, finishing seventh in a WSOP $5,000 Six-Handed event.

Outside of the WSOP, there has been more of the same. O'Brien boasts $2,734,169 in career tournament earnings, $954,028 at the WSOP alone, but the big win has still eluded him. He bubbled the six-handed final table of the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic in 2014, finished fourth at the final table of the Partouche Poker Tour Grand Final in 2012, fifth in the Heartland Poker Tour Las Vegas stop the same year and third in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars two years prior.

Jeff Madsen has won a fourth career WSOP bracelet after taking down the $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-low Split-8 or Better event on Tuesday in Las Vegas. The 30 year-old from Santa Monica, California now becomes one of the youngest pros to have accomplished such a feat, and also joins a small elite of 4-time bracelet winners which includes the likes of Amarillo Slim Preston, Huck Seed, Tom McEvoy, Mike Matusow, and Tom Schneider.

Jeff Madsen’s other bracelets were won in 2006 (2) and 2013 (1), while the $301,413 first place prize now pushes his life-time earnings to $4,959,610. Commenting on what the victory means to him, Madsen said:

It was another big weekend for online poker players in New Jersey as all of the major tournaments with at least $10,000 guaranteed prize pools exceeded their guarantees. This was despite the fact that the Garden State Super Series III (GSSS III) ended last weekend.

The two biggest winners last weekend came in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker-com $50,000 Guarantee, which since converting to a re-entry last month has consistently met its guarantee. This week's tournament was no different with 311 entrants ponying up the $215 buy-in to generate a healthy $62,200 prize pool.

The tournament ended in a three-way deal with "KingofNJ" being declared the official winner, collecting $8,988. Also part of the deal were "Kanish29" who finished in second place for $8,874 and Steven "stevenmadara" Madara who collected $7,533 for taking third.

Madara also appeared on the final table in the second biggest online tournament over the weekend, finishing in fifth place to earn $1,898 in the WSOP-com/888poker NJ Sunday $30,000 Guarantee.

However, Sean "sisco" Sisco was the one to shine through the field of 170 players in that tournament to take first place for $8,541. New Jersey's "QIGONG" should also able to feel good about a nice payday, having finished second to earn $4,983.

Other well-known New Jersey players to appear on the final table in the $30,000 Guarantee included Brian "Deusexmachin" Willis snagging $2,847 for third place and Baruch "gamblegamble" Krieger banking $1,582 for sixth place.

While this mistake won’t cost you any chips, it won’t make you any friends at the table, either, as it’ll likely slow the game down and lead to fewer hands being played per hour.

It’s accepted etiquette that the largest denomination chips should be at the front of your chip stack, making them easily identifiable to everyone else at the table. This means keeping them front and center. It’s the dealer's responsibility to keep on top of this and ensure everyone's stacks are easy to see and count, but don’t be afraid to ask someone to move their big denomination chips to the front if you see them hiding at the back.

Arranging your chips in stacks of 20 is also helpful not just for keeping track of your own chips, but making them presentable to others. Some prefer shorter or taller stacks, but most say 20 is easiest for counting. However you stack your chips, do it neatly enough to ensure others can count them.
