It's not a good thing short-term, but if it is part of an evolution towards regulation then that might be good. I still don't understand why US players can't play freerolls though. The current problem is a legal issue involving banking.

It is true that you cant play freerolls at FTP and at PS but I am still allowed to register in AP/UB freerolls. So I take it that it was a call by the sites whether to allow the US in freerolls or not.

Well.. I guess the thing is that it is banking.. how would you get your money off? Those laws refer to both deposits and payouts.. so thus the reason. AP/UB are taking a further look into it before they shut down play to US players.. but they still can't allow payouts or transfers or deposits.. so what would be the point to playing there?

I play there in the event that some day it is legalized and we are allowed to deposit and receive payouts. Might I recommend the PPA to everyone as there is strength in numbers and hopefully one day this prohibition is done away with. :thumbsup

Don't worry. I am sure they won't shut down Merge sites unless US state law does something about it.embeded-image

I guess it not good.
While pounding about the pros and cons of the this ban i realized that damages are much more than the benefits of banning online poker.

I think shut down on poker site is not good. I always love to play poker games and always prefer to play online with poker sites. These sites also give good sign up bonuses.
