So here is MLS again this evening after some break. Here is my betting pick and analysis. Maybe I will share something during the games

DC United vs Houston Dynamo

In Major Soccer League in United States we have a match between DC United from Eastern conference and Houston Dynamo from Western conference. In opening two rounds in their four total matches there were in three at least three goals scored and I think that here both teams have shown that they are capable of scoring a lot goals and making a lot good chances and since both teams will have to play without some important players, I think that here we will see one fast match with a lot good attacks and I expect that at least three goals will be scored in this match tonight.

Total over 2.5 goals @1.86 Pinnacle

Game: Los Angeles FC - New York City

Both teams are playing well at attacking but they forget about their defense. Teams are going to fight and this match should be effective. It is worth to take over 3.5 or maybe even over 4.5 if you are not afraid to risk.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off via VAR during LA Galaxy's match against Montreal on Monday after striking an opponent's head.

The former Manchester United striker was shown red for violent conduct in the 41st minute because he hit out at Montreal's Michael Petrasso, who appeared to stand on Ibrahimovic's foot.

Both players went down after a short delay, which led to a video referral, and subsequently, the referee giving the 36-year-old his marching orders, while Petrasso received a yellow card.

With that kind of actions he shows that his ego are more important than the team results. The result 0-0 and in this situation you slap the opponent? 36 years old football player with that kind of experience should be way smarter.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. He feels like that and he always does whatever he wants.. However, he shouldn't show such an example

It is understood that more than a month of negotiations between Rooney's agent Paul Stretford, DC United and Everton could be concluded, paving the way for the 32-year old to end his 16-year stint in the Premier League and sign a two-year, £3.8m-a-year deal.

Sky Sports News also understands an agreement will allow for Rooney to return to Goodison Park at a later date to take up a coaching role.

Negotiations have centred on the year left on Rooney's contract. It's thought no transfer fee will be paid by DC United, but they will pay a significant proportion of the last 12 months of his £180k-a-week deal.

The agreement will allow Rooney to apply for a US visa before joining his new DC team-mates for training ahead of a likely debut at home to the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 15.

Last week, Rooney flew into Washington from a family holiday in Barbados to undergo a medical and hold talks with DC's managing general partner Jason Levien and general manager Dave Kasper.

New York City will against Columbus Crew in match USA MLS. My prediction this match would be the won for New York City with margin score minimal is 1 goal. New York City have good record on last 5 match in the home that New York can won in 4 match and 1 match is draw. Meanwhile, Colombus Crew have also better record on last 5 match in away that Colombus Crew can won in 1 match, 2 match is draw and 2 match is lose. Nevertheless, i am predict this match would be the won for New York City due to they always over confidence in match home.

We will have a great derby between Los Angeles FC and Los Angeles Galaxy team. Both teams are playing powerfully at attakcing. The last meeting ended with result such as 4-3. I hope to see something similar tonight too. Both teams should score goals and we should see at least 4 of them.

Atlanta United sets the MLS record for consecutive clean sheet wins: five wins, five clean sheets

Impressive record knowing how the MLS league games more based on the attack than defense. Atlanta starting to roll again after the bad start this season.

MLS and Liga MX collaborate to create new North American competition

Major League Soccer has united with Liga MX for the formation of the Leagues Cup, an annual competition, which will be contested between North America’s top two leagues and will debut this July with the support of Concacaf.

The inaugural competition will feature four teams from MLS and four from Liga MX. Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Chicago Fire, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, will all take part from MLS in the tournament, whilst Club America, Cruz Azul, Tigres UANL and Club Tijuana will represent Liga MX.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber commented on the launch of the new tournament: “We are excited to take our partnership with Liga MX to the next level with Leagues Cup.

“We have an intense rivalry between our national teams, and Leagues Cup provides a terrific opportunity to increase the growing rivalry between MLS and Liga MX clubs.”

In future versions of the tournament, club achievements will determine qualification for the Leagues Cup, however for the debut tournament, four MLS teams were invited to compete at the tournament, alongside four Liga MX clubs, that were selected based on results in recent competitions.

Liga MX Executive President Enrique Bonilla added: “The rivalry between Liga MX and MLS clubs as well as the sporting level of both competitions grows constantly. We are aware that there are a great number of fans around the region who follow the leagues and we believe that Leagues Cup will allow us to bring Liga MX and that great fanbase closer together, while fortifying our sport in the region, which is already the most important in the continent in regards to infrastructure, media impact and the quality of the competition.

“This great event will mark a new start in this relationship moving forward, with a long-term vision.”

Concacaf president Victor Montagliani also emphasised: “Concacaf is committed to continuing the development of competitions that will further unite the confederation and provide more opportunities to develop players and connect passionate fans across our region.”

MLS gives the green light to allow sports betting commercial partnerships

embeded-image

Major League Soccer (MLS) has become the first professional sports league across the US and Canada which will give the green light to betting sponsorships across MLS apparel.

The changes in policy, which were discussed by the league and its board of governors at its two most-recent meetings in December and April, are effective immediately.

The sponsorship opportunity will be applicable to jersey fronts and new sleeve-patch space, with the chance to sell sleeve space set come into effect from the beginning of 2020. However, it has been specified that youth jerseys will not feature sponsor logos from betting brands.

A number of MLS clubs have already been taking part in discussions with sports betting brands ahead of this news being confirmed, especially across the states where sports betting has been – or is expected to be – legalized. As it stands, none of the 26 clubs set to play in 2020 have announced a sleeve sponsor yet.

Both the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union have discussed stadium naming rights deals with sports betting companies, sources said, while D.C. United have taken steps towards allowing a sports betting facility operate at Audi Field.

Senior vice president of business development at MLS and Soccer United Marketing, Carter Ladd, has emphasised that the alterations in commercial guidelines seek to act as a reflection of the changing social landscape across the sports betting industry.

Ladd recognized that MLS clubs are already sourcing new partners for sponsorship deals, and said that the league’s expectation is that several deals could be signed during the 2019 season, declining to comment further on the state of those negotiations.

The news comes after the MLS inked its first-ever league-level deal with a sports betting company back in March, agreeing to a non-exclusive deal with MGM Resorts.

The commercial guideline changes will also open up a number of other opportunities for the MLS to team up with the sports betting industry, with MLS clubs and local broadcast partners now permitted to sell advertising spots to sports betting companies during game streams.

It has also been clarified that as part of the new policy, MLS teams will be given the go ahead to develop alternate live betting feeds for games, however clubs themselves cannot become a licensed sports betting operator, and would instead need to work with a different operator.

Ladd added that via the guidelines, MLS not only expects to appeal to new partners that help connect fans in new ways to the league, its clubs and players, but also open up new revenue opportunities as well.

“We think this can be a big differentiator for the league,” Ladd said. “Sports betting has been in the fabric of the game for a long time and is something international soccer consumers are accustomed to – we think these changes will put us not only at the forefront of the North American landscape, but also tap into the roots of the game.”

MLS reportedly set to confirm 28th franchise with St. Louis

Major League Soccer (MLS) is set to officially award St. Louis an expansion franchise to become the league’s 28th club according to reports emerging from the US.

The reports come courtesy of two sources from within the midwest city, KMOX Radio and the St.Louis Dispatch. The latter of the two has gone as far to claim that the expansion is set to be officially announced by the MLS at an event on August 20 and that the new club will need to pay a $200m expansion fee.

As well as setting a date for the announcement, the reports also indicated that the team would be likely to join the league in 2022, following in the footsteps of fellow expansion franchises including Austin FC, Nashville SC and David Beckham’s Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami who are integrating into the MLS between 2020 and 2021.

The MLS is yet to release a statement or directly comment on the reports, however, the St.Louis ownership group, spearheaded by Carolyn Kindle Betz, president of Enterprise Holdings Foundation, and World Wide Technology chief executive Jim Kavanaugh, released a statement to ESPN: “Major League Soccer is responsible for the timing of any announcements around League expansion, but we remain confident St. Louis has made a strong case for a team.”

The group, which goes by the name of ‘MLS4TheLou’, was confirmed by MLS commissioner Don Garber to have entered “exclusive, formal” discussions regarding the potential of it becoming an expansion franchise for the league back in April. Moreover, the group has also received high praise of late, with Garber hailing the group’s expansion efforts as “amazing”.

Other cities fighting to become an expansion franchise include Sacramento, California as well as North Carolina’s city of Charlotte – with NFL’s Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper reportedly intent on bringing an MLS franchise to the city: “You saw they mentioned St Louis first and they mentioned Charlotte second and they mentioned Sacramento third. I think that put us in the conversation.”

St. Louis has long been seen as a strong favorite to gain a franchise. As of yet, however, specific details surrounding the expansion such as its official name, crest or colors are yet to be confirmed.
