Manne wrote: New Delaware Governor Jack Markell next week will introduce a proposal to legalize sports gambling in the state. Delaware is facing a $700 million budget shortfall.

Markell's proposal, should it pass the state legislature, would institute a statewide sports lottery that would include only parlay bets. A gambler has to make at least two correct picks in order to cash a ticket on a parlay.

If sports gambling were regulated by the state, New Jersey could generate as much as $100 million annually for the state budget.

Barack Obama showed he shares the people's disregard for online gambling laws by appearing on ESPN to make his own bracket picks. Obama participated in picking all sixty-three games, and demonstrated an intimate knowledge of the college game and each team's capabilities.

Observers say the future for Internet gambling and sportsbooks may be bright with Obama in charge.

The $10,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Main Event is either one of the most prestigious tournaments in poker or an insufferable donkfest, depending on who's talking. To this end, Bodog has released a series of prop bets covering this subject, giving action junkies the chance to put their money where their mouths are and wager on how different types of poker players will fare in the 2009 WSOP, which kicks off on July 3.

If you’re hosting a Final Four party and you want it to be more than eight guys sitting on a couch drinking beer and eating nachos, here are some ideas that will make your NCAA semifinals bash a little more memorable.

When it comes to parties a theme is always a good idea. Decorate your place with the colors of the schools in the final four. You’ll find lots of basketball-related decorations and party favors that will create the setting you’re looking for at All Star Basketball Party Supplies .

You can create a collection of prop bets that guests can fill out. You can bet on the score at halftime, the final score, the top point getters on each team, over-under, and so on. Everyone pays a couple of bucks to fill out the list of bets, and your guests will be into the game more than ever.

For all your NCAA basketball betting head over to the Bodog Sportsbook.

The NCAA is rushing around the country lobbying against liberalizing gambling laws and threatening states that consider adopting Internet gaming or sports betting as revenue producers. Yet the same organization is chock-full of members accepting advertising dollars from casinos and other gambling interests. :1orglaugh

Sports betting was the fourth most popular form of gambling among participants in a survey of University of Delaware students released last month by the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems, trailing only the lottery, card games and casinos.

The competition to be the odds-on favorite going into the Kentucky Derby has been a roller coaster ride over the last couple of months. The current odds have four horses getting odds of 7-1 or better. The current favorite is 3-1-4 I Want Revenge. He’s getting odds of 7/2 to win the Derby and is coming off a big win in the Wood Memorial. Quality Road is at 5/1, coming off a big win in the Florida Derby.

Next are Dunkirk and Friesen Fire who come in at 6/1. Friesen Fire is coming off an impressive romp in the Louisiana Derby, while Dunkirk won his first two races but finished second in his last outing in the Florida Derby. Pioneerof the Nile receives odds of 7/1 to win the Running of the Roses, even though he’s gone undefeated in three starts and recently won the Santa Anita Derby.

For the best in horse betting and all your Kentucky Derby odds check out the Bodog Sportsbook.
