Are there many people out there who bet on US Horse Racing?

I have noticed that the markets can be very condensed with a lot of horses drifting out to unrealistic odds, if they are not in the first 2 or 3 favourites.

I have had a few occasions where I have been able to take advantage of glitches in the system, and place bets at long odds, hedging them as prices become more realistic.

Has anybody else had any luck with this strategy?

There are many ways to bet these days, but I have found it to be very lucrative to bet pre-events and also "In Play".

The movement of odds "In Play" can be very extreme and if you are willing to take a chance and hold your nerve, there are chances to make some big bucks.

I have always found it difficult to bet' In Play' because by its very nature you need to concentrate on both the game and the odds at the same time. Not something I am particularly good at hence I stick to pre event betting.

I actually enjoy betting in play. I don't know why but I've had great luck with it too. Maybe it's because you can actually see what's going on and thus make a more sensible wager.

I have heard that there are a number of betting services out there which will alert you to "good value" bets.

I think the trick with "good value" bets is taking out human emotion, and looking at the stats, chances, etc - something which I find difficult to do.
