She won the WTA tournament in Hobart, where she defeated some good players: Ruzic, today's A.Li, Jovic. And yesterday, surprisingly, she beat Gauff.
A.Li is a player of a very similar level, maybe a bit more nervous, with a strong emphasis on hard court tennis, but considering the time of day, she has a not bad willpower that significantly compares to her game.
Another thing that I would like to mention is the final H2H match a month ago, which was won by the Italian over an American opponent, but there was a nuance that the Italian managed to persevere, which means she has stamina and energy. In the first set, A.Li was leading, but in the second, the American led 5:3 with a break and completely collapsed, although she also led 2:0 in the third set and then 4:3 with a break.
This definitely gives the Italian some added confidence.
