Key Facts

Tottenham are the 2nd tied highest scoring team in the league with Chelsea at 8 while Watford are 4th tied highest scoring team tied with Liverpool in the BPL so far. Both teams like to score.

In the Premier League era, Watford have never beaten Tottenham. More recently, every since getting promoted in 2015 to the Prem, Watford have played Spurs 6 times and lost 5 the other being a draw.

Team News

Watford: During the midweek game against Reading, Javi Garcia rotated his whole side and still won. However, he is expected to bring back the whole main starting line-up that’s been used in the league. Cleverley still remains out while Deulofeu has a chance to feature on the bench. We should expect Watford to definitely have a go at Spurs even though they may not have more possession. Watford have proven that they’re a good attacking side in the first three games and for sure should create a few chances with Pereyra, Hughes, Gray and Deeney all in great form.

Tottenham Hotspur: There’s been a bit of bad news for Spurs as their captain and first choice keeper Hugo Lloris is out with an injury. Moussa Sissoko is also out with an injury but it’s not a huge deal there and Son is still at the Asian games. Michel Vorm will be expected to slot in for Lloris, he’s a good experienced back up keeper and should be able to do the job if required. Other than that, we’re expecting Pochettino to field a similar side to the United that featured against United. Moura and Kane are players to watch out for. Both are showing immense form right now. Expect Spurs to have more possession and chances in this game, but they should be aware of Watford.

Betting Tips and Predictions

We’re thinking goals here. Both sides as mentioned have been near the top in terms of goals scored and with Pereyra, Gray, Deeney in form for Watford and Lucas, Kane and the rest of the Spurs showing great form going forward we can expect this to be an entertaining game. We’re thinking an over 2.5 goals at 1.70 and even over 3.5 goals at 2.80, also BTTS at 1.75. Although both teams have decent defensive records, they both did manage to concede one goal in two of the three games so it’s very possible that both teams could be punished with goals here. Lloris being out is kind of a big deal too, and yes Vorm is a good keeper but he’s not Lloris level so it may make it easier for Watford to score. Neither team is really going to sit back for the whole game which should turn this into an open game and we expect a ton of chances between both sides. Watford double chance 1X at 2.45 is a bet worthy a try too. They are playing at home and showing great form so the support is going to be crazy from the fans which makes this a tricky game for Spurs. This could totally go either way even with Spurs being the better team.
