Can you have one without the other?

My fave is the margarita. What are your favorite drinks/cocktails?

I'm a martini girl. Especially the flavored martinis like sour apple or a caffeini.

There are some professional gamblers that do not drink, as gambling is what they do for a living. In answer to your question, you can have one without the other. My favorite drink is a good single malt scotch. Preferably 12 years old.

Single malt, right? Like a Glenfidditch? Ah smooth! Although I do occasionally enjoy a good Vodka martini. Very dry, shaken, not stirred!

I love getting the free drinks at Casino's, but I make sure to limit my alcohol intake, I want to be able to play my best.

Which is why the Casinos tend to ply us with all the free drinks we want. What they lose in booze, they more than make up in gamblers losing their shirts!

That's exactly right Cassy, I've also heard Casino's do other things to loosen their customers up so that they won't play their best.

I've learned my lesson. I always order ginger ale now. I stay sober, and don't lose as much! I still lose, but at least I can't blame it on the booze!

Good for you Hotwriter, hope others decided to do that as well. Shame so many lose so much because of drinking while playing.

Lol Hotwriter! I hear you! I'm not a heavy drinker either. Made the decision when I had kids, that I would be a different parent then I had. I made of friend of ours uncomfortable not to long ago when he asked my daughter to go get him a beer out of our refrigirator and I stopped her and got it for him, told him I don't have my children fetch alcohol.

That's probably the best idea. Not only that but if you're playing cards, the other players may think you're getting booze, and you can bluff your butt off!

I learned that from an old poker player. He would drink ginger ale, and act like he was getting squiffed. He would take everyone to the cleaners!

Yeah kids are great. And, they shouldn't fetch anyone's beer except their own!

You gotta know when to walk away and know when to run.

Couldn't help myself, a little Kenny Rogers humor. Anyone want to add a line to the song.
